Such a good presmise. Such a bad channel.
Verizon FIOS has the Blackbelt channel; but I’m not sure why. I watch it off and on, because its an awesome concept for a TV channel. All the good (even the really bad!) ninja movies out there and fights and martial arts cartoons. 24 hours a day. What could be better?
But what are we presented with?
- A couple of bimbos who chant the name of the station we are watching.
- Mortal Kombat cartoons - I think there are like 5 episodes, cuz they run the same ones over and over and over again.
- The same 4 fights. I’ve seen the game guys fight about 10 times now.
- Bowflex commercials.
Awful. It’s sad when the Bowflex commercials are the best content on the channel.
And it even has a crappy website, from the last time I looked. It’s been on television for over a year now. The first 6 months were a promo telling us what we’d see. I feel deceived.

Mixed Martial Arts is by far the fastest growing sport in the world, and this television idea is absolutely perfect to take advantage! The timing could not be better!
Oh, except this channel is a complete piece of dog crap that shows the same few “limited contact” fights from 1988 every day. With so many live MMA contests happening almost every day, I can’t believe that this channel can’t come up with some amazing, up to date programming that actually reflects what’s happening in the world of martial arts. I have news for you Blackbelt TV — the Kung Fu heroes have learned to stay home on fight night! The future of “blackbelt” martial arts IS MMA, and unless you want your channel to go the way of boxing, then wake up!
Once upon a time, I wanted to fight Rachel Ray and smash her teeth out. But now, I want to fight bimbo channel announcer “Muay Thai Monica” who doesn’t know Muay Thai from Mai Tai. I would love to break her arms off and beat her to death with them.
I have had this channel via FiOS for exactly 1 day, and I am canceling due to dismal content and laughable dedication to anything resembling martial arts.

I actually really like the channel. I have not seen the old Kung Fu movies since I was a kid and I’ve also had the channel for about a week and I’ve seen 4 classics. Real Kung Fu from Japan. I agree that they HAVE to get MMA. Martial arts is blowing up because of MMA - not the stupid Kickboxing they keep airing. but I have to admit I like watching that also.
And - I can’t stand Rachel Ray - but Monica is HOT. So I could care less if she pops up a few times an hour.

They need MMA on Blackbelt TV! And lay off of Mui Thai Monica - she’s my sister (lol)
At least theres a channel out there now!
